Steve
Alfonso Chiscano is Vice President and co-founder
of Gonzalez, Chiscano, Angulo & Kasson,
P.C. Mr. Chiscano is a trial attorney with
extensive experience in civil and business
litigation. In December 2008, four years after
becoming a shareholder of the nationally recognized
firm of Davis, Cedillo & Mendoza, Inc.,
opened up his own law firm in San Antonio,
Texas. Mr. Chiscano represents both plaintiffs
and defendants in civil and business disputes
involving domestic and foreign corporations.
Since 1999, he has played a major role in
lawsuits resulting in over $660,000,000 in
judgments on behalf of Mexican corporations,
over $33,000,000 in judgments or settlements
for U.S. corporations, and successfully defended
commercial claims exceeding $1,000,000,000
for U.S. and foreign corporations.

Professional
Background
In 1996, Mr. Chiscano interned with Justice John
Cornyn of the Texas Supreme Court. He was admitted
to the State Bar of Texas in 1997. Mr. Chiscano
was subsequently admitted in the Western and Southern
U.S. Federal District Courts of Texas as well as
the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth
Circuit.
Education
In 1997, Mr. Chiscano graduated from St. Mary’s
University School of Law. He received a Bachelor
of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts
from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994,
majoring in International Business and Spanish.
Mr. Chiscano is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Chiscano is a member of the State Bar of Texas,
Texas Bar Foundation (Fellow), San Antonio and American
Bar Associations, Federal Bar Association, Fifth
Circuit Bar Association, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,
Mexican American Bar Association, and the Million
Dollar Advocates Forum.

Engagements
In 2008, Mr. Chiscano was a featured speaker for
St. Mary’s University School of Law’s
“TechLawSA: Pragmatic Use of Technology in
Litigation.” In 2007, he was a featured speaker
for the Federal Bar Association’s “Summer
Associates and Law Clerk Program.” In 2004,
he was a featured speaker for the University of
Texas School of Law’s Symposium “Litigating
Business Ethics.”
Boards/Affiliations
Mr. Chiscano is actively involved in the San Antonio
community, including having been recently elected
as Chair of the Historical Centre Foundation. This
organization is a nonprofit foundation founded to
preserve San Fernando Cathedral as the historic
center of San Antonio, Texas and to extend the Cathedral’s
services to the people of the City of San Antonio
and to the communities beyond San Antonio. The foundation
serves to raise funds in support of the works of
the Cathedral, particularly those in the areas of
social services, community outreach, and cultural
events.
Additionally, Mr. Chiscano sits as a board member
of the St. Mary’s University School of Law’s
Alumni Association as well as a committee member
of the State Bar of Texas Lawyer Referral Information
Service Committee.
Awards/Recognitions
In December 2008, Mr. Chiscano was a recipient of
the 2009 San Antonio Business Journal’s 40
Under Forty Rising Star Award honoring young people
in San Antonio who are making a difference in the
business world and the community.
In 2006, 2008 and 2009, Mr. Chiscano was recognized
by Texas Monthly as a “Rising Star”
in the legal profession.
In 2007 he received the “AV” certification
by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings indicating
his peers rank him at the highest level of professional
excellence.
Family
Mr. Chiscano is married to Kimberly Chiscano and
the two of them enjoy spending their free time with
their two young boys Nickolaus and Christian Chiscano.
